Meet Daya. She is 11 years old. Daya attended Arts For All's five day workshop this past week in Omaha. Arts For All (AFA) got a chance to sit down with Daya and ask her a few questions about her experiences.
AFA: Did you ever write poetry before?
Daya: No, never.
AFA: Now that you have learned about poetry, will you still write poems after this workshop is over?
Daya: Yes!
AFA: Why kind of poem was your favorite?
Daya: Haiku.
AFA: What did you like best about Haiku?
Daya: That it didn't have to rhyme.
AFA: How does poetry make you feel?
Daya: I feel happy when I write poems!
AFA: What would you tell kids who are thinking of taking a poetry class?
Daya: It makes you smarter and it is fun at the same time.
AFA: Would you share a poem with us that you have written during this workshop?
Daya:
BIG FISH, MIDDLE FISH, SMALL
OF ALL THE WORLD SO KIND
THE COLOR OF THEM ALL.
AFA: Thank you so much Daya for sharing your insight and attending our workshop!
