Sure we have all been to museums to see art exhibits but why not try something new and experience art outside?
Quiet, air conditioned museums are wonderful places to ponder a piece but you may find it refreshing to take an art walk around Omaha.
Public Art of Omaha has a list of the pieces by artist as well as by location. The map and brochure of the art walk will help you find and identify the art or you can plan your own route.
Going on an art walk is a great alternative to museums for parents with young children in strollers and for older children it would be easy to formulate this into an art scavenger hunt that bigger kids would enjoy. You can even fit more activity into your day by jogging or biking from piece to piece.
Whatever your lifestyle is there is always a way to fit more art into it.
