Carolyn Weston
Carolyn Weston in an up and coming private instructor in the Omaha area. She has spent many years teaching as well as performing all over the world. Her students have moved on to become accomplished musicians themselves. Carolyn likes to describe herself as a good performer, but a great teacher.
A flutist by trade, Carolyn spends most of her days teaching beginning piano lessons for a non-profit organization as well as teaching in her private flute studio. She describes her teaching style as fun and upbeat, much like her personality. She explains “that every student learns differently, it is taking that difference and using it to find out what they are passionate about.”
Carolyn began her music career, when she was in fourth grade, by taking piano lessons. She continued to play piano all through college, but it was the flute and her joy in singing that made her talents blossom. After graduating high school Carolyn attended college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she graduated with her bachelors degree in Music Education. At UNO Carolyn sang in the choir, played in the orchestra and band, and was a founding member of the Heartland Flute Choir. She also took lessons in wind and orchestra conducting from Dr. Erica Neidlinger, and Dr. Chrisopher Stanichar. Her flute teachers include Deb Johnson, and Dr. Christine Beard.
