Policy

REGISTRATION

Students of all ages - beginners to those at an intermediate level are accepted throughout the year. The school year is divided into three semesters: fall/winter 12 weeks, winter/spring 14 weeks and summer 6 weeks. There are classes and workshops during the semesters. At the end of each of the 12 and 14 week semesters, a combined recital and art show is held. There are two camps during the summer months. If you pre-register, and need to cancel before classes begin, please contact us immediately. There may be people on a waiting list wanting your space. After you have begun the semester, if you need to drop the class, please contact us immediately. Again, there may be people on a waiting list wanting your space.

REFUND and WITHDRAWL POLICIES

If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be made. If the student withdraws before the 3rd week of the semester, the refund will be prorated. Students withdrawing after the 2nd week of the semester are financially responsible for the full semester fee. Payment plans are available. Tuition is prorated for those who begin after the semester has begun. Arts For All reserves the right to cancel a class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment and to discontinue lessons and classes for any student who falls behind in payment.

TUITION

Each class session is $6/week. Discounts are negotiated based on income/hardship. Some scholarships may be awarded. Each student must pay a minimum of $1/weekly class. Payment plans are available based on need.

ABSENCES

Lessons and classes missed due to teacher absence or snow days will be made up. Students are financially responsible for missed classes. If you know you will not be attending a particular day, please notify the office 402-556-7821, the executive director or call the class site only during class time.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

Classes may be cancelled due to snow, ice, tornados or storms. During the school week, if Omaha area schools are closed because of weather, our classes will be closed. We will also attempt to contact you. For Saturday classes if the weather is bad, classes may be closed. We will make every attempt to contact you. You may call the Arts For All office 402-556-7821 or the Executive Director's cell phone for verification 402-708-3085.

If one day of classes are cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. weather, power failure), the classes will not be rescheduled. If more than one day is missed, we will make up the lessons by: having a class during a scheduled break, extending individual class time, adding a week to the semester or having you attend a class that is held on a different day.

PHOTO/VIDEO POLICY

Arts For All regularly photographs and videotapes classes, workshops and events to document our programs to use for marketing and grant proposals. If you do not want your child or yourself to be photographed or videotaped, please inform the office at 402-556-7821 or indicate this on the back of your registration form.

DISCOUNTS

Arts For All donors at the $50 level or higher will receive a 10% discount on classes or workshops during the calendar year.

ART and MUSIC CLASS or WORKSHOP FEES

Fees for art and music classes and workshops vary according to the length of the class or workshop and the materials used. Fees for classes are for one 6, 12 or 14 week semester unless otherwise noted.

Payment Plans for Classes

Option 1: Full payment for the semester is due at registration

Option 2: Half of the semester tuition is due at registration, the other half at the 6th or 7th week of the semester (depending on which semester; Fall or Spring)

Option 3: One quarter of the tuition is due at registration. The balance is due in 3 equal payments.

DISCOUNTED CLASS FEES

If for a number of legitimate reasons you feel the tuition is more than you can afford or your child is on the Federal Lunch program, please contact the office at 402-556-7821 or discuss at registration arrangements to discount class costs. No matter the circumstances, those receiving financial aid will be required to pay a minimum of $1 per class lesson. Once this is agreed upon, class payments will be required for the whole semester.

RETURNED CHECKS

There is a $15 charge if your check is returned to us by the bank.

EXPLANATIONS

We mention all of this about payments because we are a non-profit and offer opportunities at reduced costs and have little operating funds. However, our mission is to provide the arts at affordable prices for all. If you register, we expect you or your child to attend. Based on this information, we hire a teacher, purchase supplies and determine if we have enough students to offer a class. When the class size changes, it affects the activities for others within the class. If students intend to show up but don't and do not notify us, the class may need to close because we think we don't have enough enrollment. The closing of a class (some classes have a minimum number of students required to run) after it has started, may affect other students in the class or the opportunities the instructor has to earn other income. We know there are extenuating circumstances and we will occasionally make exceptions; however, we believe the semester time frame gives you enough time to decide if you really like the experience and want to continue the following semester or try something else.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Parents may drop off their children who are enrolled in classes. When arriving, students need to sign in with the site supervisor before going to class. We need to know when a child is leaving. If parents bring children who are not attending classes while they are waiting for their child who attends a class, parents are to monitor their children; they are not to run loose through the facility. Also, these children can not be dropped off for "baby-sitting" while their sibling takes a class. This is for the safety of your children.
