Refunds and Withdrawal
If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, students will be offered a class at a different time or location. If an alternative is not feasible, a refund will be issued.
Students withdrawing after the 1st day of class are financially responsible for the full semester of fees, regardless of attendance. Student withdrawal may affect the ability of the class to meet the class objectives. Changes may need to be made to the class time based upon the smaller class size.
There is a $20 charge if a check is returned for insufficient funds.
Teachers: We do our best to provide substitutes when a teacher is absent.
Students: Occasionally arrangements can be made for the student to attend a class on a different day at a different location to make up for the absence.
Regardless of attendance, parents/students are financially responsible for every class during the semester. Students must sign-in with the site coordinator when they arrive. Teachers also take attendance. If your child has to miss a class, please call Arts For All (402) 556-7821. During class hours, call the site coordinator's phone (number below). When registering, students enroll in and attend the entire semester. AFA and its' instructors strive to provide quality classes. The process of learning a new skill requires dedication and perseverance, therefore; attendance to all AFA classes within a semester is not only encouraged but essential before a student can reach his or her potential. Acquiring artistic/expressive abilities is a fun, rewarding journey. The staff at AFA understands that occasionally things happen and a student may have to miss a class. A student’s absence may affect the class. AFA is a non profit but functions like a foro profit business in that we have to pay teachers, insurance, telephone, marketing, supplies and so much more. We plan a budget and expect our students to honor their commitments. It is required that you pay for the entire semester. UNO, Metro and other organizations require the same thing. We offer payment plans and will work with you if there are financial challenges. We get money from donations, tuition and grants and many times we don't get the grants we apply for and therefore, struggle to stick with our budget. Remember we are a not for profit and do not profit; yet we still need to pay our bills. If you have to miss, you still have to pay even if you are paying weekly. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for understanding.
Parents/Guardians: Please notify Arts For All prior to the first week of classes if you need to cancel so we can fill your seat with a waiting student. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after the first week of classes.
Arts For All, Inc. reserves the right to cancel a class, camp or workshop due to insufficient enrollment.
Inclement Weather When OPS or other Public Schools are closed for bad weather (usually snow and ice) at the beginning of a school day, AFA is closed. We do not close if the weather is only very cold. AFA will make up a snow day. Please watch for weather closing announcements on TV or local news websites for a cancellation by AFA. The announcement on our phone (402-556-7821) will also indicate weather closings. Weather events during the school day may cause AFA to cancel. It depends upon the location of the weather event or school closing in relation to the particular location…..i.e. Papillion location may not have bad weather while Benson in Midtown Omaha has bad weather and is closed. Please always stay safe. Attempts will be made to contact Saturday students in the event of bad weather. When in doubt, use your best judgment. When schools are not in session, we will try to contact as many students as possible, primarily via email. Please be sure we always have your current phone numbers and email address. If a tornado warning is issued during an AFA class, students use the site’s tornado shelter. Classes may be cancelled due to snow, ice, tornadoes or storms. If classes are cancelled, we will do one or more of the following:
Post on our voicemail message system at 402-556-7821
Post on our front webpage www.artsforallinc.com
Email all effected parents/guardians via our registration system, ACTIVE (if an email was provided)
Post on our Twitter and Facebook webpages
Submit the cancellations to local TV stations for post
Safety is our first concern, if inclement weather prohibits your travel when classes are in session, please contact the AFA office or the site coordinator. Please do not contact the church. If a location is closed or classes are cancelled because of weather, the first and second classes canceled will be made up at the end of the semester, extending the semester. Parents are financially responsible for make-up classes their student is unable to attend. More information can be read
Student Safety Students are required to sign in with the site facilitator before class each week. This is important for safety reasons (i.e.,fire, tornado, etc.) Students are to be picked up inside the building by a parent/guardian in the lobby, near the site coordinator's desk. This is to ensure that students leave with the correct adult and so that no students are unattended in the parking lot. If inside pick-up is not possible due to disability or other issues, parents/guardians must sign a Parking Lot Waiver clearing Arts For All, Inc. of any liability associated with the student leaving unattended.
